Where To Get iPhone 4S Without Contract in Singapore … with Apple warranty and without overpaying above Apple list price?

This is a question that I often get online and in person … so I might as well settle it here with the iPhone 4S.

The answer is really very simple … Apple Online Store (SG).

Were you expecting some shop, some where in Singapore, that has that super lobang (great deal) that you may not know about?

Well … sorry to disappoint you … but no, the only way that I know of to get an iPhone 4S Without Contract in Singapore (or any previous and probably any future iPhone) … with Apple warranty and without overpaying above Apple list price … is at the Apple Online Store (SG).

See … I repeated it twice so you won’t have a doubt.

Why?

Warranty

First of all … it’s the warranty.

IF you read your iPhone Warranty carefully … you will see this phrase:

Apple may restrict warranty service to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the Apple Product.

That means no international warranty.

As for who distributes iPhones for Apple in Singapore?

That would probably be Singtel, M1 and StarHub plus the authorized agents selling on behalf of the Telco plus Apple themselves.

So you are safe with them.

If you buy from any others whose iPhone may have been imported … you may not get your warranty coverage in Singapore.

Carrier Unlocked

iPhone bought from Apple Online Store (SG) is unlocked and ready to use.

When you purchase your iPhone from the Apple Online Store, you’ll get it unlocked. So you can sign up for service with the carrier of your choice and change your carrier at any time.

iPhone from Singtel, M1 and StarHub are also unlocked due to regulatory requirements here in Singapore but it’s hard to say if the iPhone elsewhere will be the same.

Pricing

Everyone knows Apple controls their prices … the only real option to get it cheaper is with a Contract with a Telco.

If you want one without Contract … Apple Online Store is the way to go … unless you just want it cheap and don’t care about warranty

(Hint: IF anyone can sell you cheaper than Apple official pricing and it can’t be sourced from Apple directly here … it must have come from somewhere else right? So will it be legit, second hand or imported from a country where the iPhone is sold cheaper? Go figure it out … but either way, warranty will be a problem, Right?)

As you can see … the iPhone 4S without contract will go at:

• S$948 for 16GB
• S$1088 for 32GB
• S$1238 for 64GB

It’s still unavailable for ordering at the moment but Apple is already putting a limit on your purchases … only 2 units per customer!!
